Free firewood available for fire affected people from Wallan Transfer Station
Fire affected people from Mitchell Shire can obtain free firewood from Wallan Transfer Station.
One trailer load of firewood is available to each household. People wishing to obtain their trailer load of wood must produce the DHS blue form or card and proof of Mitchell Shire address at the Transfer Station to identify themselves as being fire affected Mitchell Shire residents. If more than one trailer load is required, this will be assessed on a case by case basis by contacting John Smyth (57346301) or Annemaree Docking (0419318497). However, only exceptional circumstances will be considered.
The firewood will be available for limited time. The Transfer Station is located at Wallan Industrial Estate, Freeway Drive, Wallan. The operating hours are Monday, Tuesday and Friday, 10 am - 2 pm, and Saturday and Sunday, 10 am - 4 pm. Wednesday and Thursday, the station is closed.
